Sophia Geeves – Canadian founder of Vintage Renaissance, curated vintage and antique shop specializing in timeless home décor and sustainable treasures.

Sophia is the Canadian founder of Vintage Renaissance, an online store dedicated to finding and bringing delicious vintage pieces back to life.

Her love for art and design has always shaped the way that she sees the world. Over time that passion grew into a love for antiques and thrifting. What began as the thrill of the hunt—searching for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces for her own home—has evolved into a business dedicated to sharing those treasures with others.

With attention to detail, she curates a wide range of antiques and collectibles ranging from delicate glassware and hand-carved wood all the way to pottery, fine ceramics and textiles. Her collection also includes modern design favorites, like striking Mid-Century-Modern pieces, and everything in between. Each item is chosen with care, not only for its beauty but also for the story it carries.

You will find her at local antique shows, where she showcases her latest finds, or treasure-hunting in thrift stores, always searching for pieces that deserve a new adventure, illuminating someone’s home once again.  Vintage Renaissance Shop is more than a marketplace—it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, history, and the art of living with timeless objects.

VISION

In days past, home decorations were made to last. There was a philosophy behind their production: quality, integrity, elegance…and durability. Family heirlooms such as textiles, wood carvings and porcelain were passed down through the generations so they had to survive. If these objects could talk, they’d tell stories of financial crashes, seasons of poverty due to unemployment, world wars, migration and other hardships. Times were tougher, so furnishings, housewares and decor needed to be too.

We now live in a world that where things are mass produced - and generally not built to last. Clothing, home decor etc. are often made for a season or for just a single use and made to be “easily disposable.” This has had massive implications on the environment.

My goal is to try my personal best to move the needle back a bit, in the direction of sustainability, durability and longevity.

Besides, we want to bring the lovely treasures back into the spotlight where they deserve. In my book, that’s a win-win!
